Intelligence Reporting and Alert System
|
IRAS is a tactical intelligence data collection and automatic alerting system that can be used by anyone with an account on the ISL website, regards of which state you may live.
IRAS is organized in a way that allows reports for an individual county to be collected and scored based on the reports threat level and credibility (Confidence).
Members can read each of these reports, see a map location and view any photos taken which support the intelligence report.
As a member, when you log onto the website and click on the “Intel Reports” button, an intelligence overview will be displayed (Image 1).
At the very top of this page, there is a drop down menu, which allows you to select the state that you would like to view.
You can view the reports from any state and easily see where the most activity is. The default State is your own.
You can post reports for any county within your own State, but not outside your State.

Below the State selector (if your state is selected) will be your county.
Below your county will be a short list of all the counties, which border your county, including bordering counties in neighboring states.
The lowest section is of all of the remaining counties for your state.
Below each county name will be the intelligence reports for that county that were posted within the past 30 days. Clicking on a report will open the full report (Image 2).

The data entry screen (Image 3) is a simple to follow page with several drop down menus. The drop down menus greatly simplify the reporting process, standardizes
the reports, and allows the reports to be better cataloged and categorized. The Memo field gives you the ability to enter any descriptions or other pertinent data.
The location field provides a direct connection to an embedded MapQuest map. Simply typing in a town and state will generate a map. The location field will accept
just about anything you enter. For example, latitude and longitude, street address, street intersections, zip code, etc.

The 'Links To Images' field gives you the ability to link intel photos to the intel report. Simply upload the photos that you took to your own image hosting website
such as Photobucket, or upload then to your own FaceBook or MySpace account, and then enter the URL link to where the images are stored into the 'Links To Images' field.
Once an intel report is entered and saved, they are automatically graded based on the nature of the threat, and the details given in the report.
The greater the number of reports that the system receives for a specific county, the higher the overall threat level for that county.
The threat level in one county will also affect the threat levels for neighboring counties. Once a specific threat level and confidence level is reached for a specific county,
emails and text messages will automatically be sent out to everyone that has those features turned on for their account. Not all details of the report will be sent,
only a warning that the threat level for your county has changed, or your neighbors, or for the whole State. For more detail about what may
have prompted the alert, you would have to log into the ISL website.
There will be additional features added in the near future that will allow people to post comments about a specific intel report, which will also affect the Threat Level
and Confidence Level of the report. This “commenting” ability will give people a chance to analyze the data for accuracy or content. This form of peer review also helps
to insure accuracy in the reports that are collected.
